The Polo Grounds is a part of baseball history. Home to the NY
Giants, NY Yankees and NY Mets. It opened in 1911 and was
demolished after the 1963 Mets' season. It was the site of the
World Series: 1905, '11, '12, '13, '17, '21, '22, '23, '24, '33,
'37, '51, '54 (Willie Mays remarkable catch) and, the 1934 and
1942 All Star games. But the most important game played there is
considered to be October 3, 1951, when Bobby Thomson hit his
"Shot heard 'round the world," a last chance homer that clinched
the pennant from the hated cross-town Dodgers.

Every once in a while something or someone special
comes along. In this particular case we have both. It is with bittersweet
emotions that we offer this unique piece of memorabilia. This is an Official
National League baseball that has been hand signed by the late Hall of Fame
announcer…HARRY CARAY. In addition to signing his name, Harry also
added his trademark saying…."HOLY COW !". As with everything we sell,
authenticity is critical. And in this particular case, we have the best
authenticity you can ask for. Included with this baseball is a hand-signed
letter of authenticity from Harry's wife (Dutchie Caray). As it turns out,
Harry was going to offer baseballs for sale at his restaurant. And in January
1998 he started signing some of these baseballs. Sad to say, Harry past away
just one month later and did not get a chance to sign many baseballs. He
only signed 71. And this is one of the 71 baseballs. An item and a man you
